How Web 2.0 is Killing the Internet

There’s a lot of death happening on the internet … long live those who embrace it.

Who and What is buying the farm and Why? More importantly, what it means to you and your business…

Death of Internet Marketing ~ Filsaime’s insights into the state of business on the internet and the growing need for actual business startegy as opposed to opportunity-seeking.

Death of the Salesletter Site ~ this was a post I made a few days ago promoting a shift from the looong style salesletter website dominating the internet.

Instead I advocate a "fractured" approach that moves with the visitor’s own conversation rather than forcing them along your own.

Death of the Long Copy Sales Letter ~ a whitepaper report of about 52 pages from copywriter Michel Fortin. It’s free, it’s good, and I found stuff I didn’t previously know.

Originally pointed out to me by Brian at Copyblogger, the report goes into the effect Web 2.0 will have on the way we, as consumers, interact with… a website, a company, a product, each other.

Things are becoming far more dynamic (Michel’s words… and I agree). The web is not made up of sales copy… it’s made up of conversations.

That being the case… what are your thoughts and what changes are you making, if any, to facilitate these conversations?
